An End - to - End Approach to Schedule Tasks with Shared
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we propose an end-to-end approach to scheduling tasks that share resources in a multipro-cessor or distributed systems. In our approach, each task is mapped into a chain of subtasks, depending on its resource accesses. After each subtask is assigned a proper priority, its worst-case response time can be bounded. Consequently the worst-case response time of each task can be obtained and the schedulability of each task can be veriied by comparing the worst-case response time with its relative deadline.

متن کاملImproving Scalability of Task Allocation and Scheduling in Large Distributed Real-Time Systems Using Shared Buffers
Scheduling precedence-constrained tasks in a distributed real-time system is an NP-hard problem. As a result, the task allocation and scheduling algorithms that use these heuristics do not scale when applied to large distributed systems. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that eliminates inter-task dependencies using shared buffers between dependent tasks. The system correctness, with r...
متن کاملAn Extension of the Earned Value Management to Improve the Accuracy of Schedule Analysis Results
A project is any endeavor involving planned action, for example, developing a new product or constructing a dam. [CE1] Major factors for a project to be successful are applying performance measurement and feedback tool. One such well-known performance measurement tool to control the project execution is earned value management (EVM). EVM uses the fundamental principle that trends in the past ca...
متن کاملCombining Off-line Schedule Construction and Fixed Priority Scheduling in Real-Time Computer Systems
Off-line scheduling and fixed priority scheduling (FPS) are often considered as complementing and incompatible paradigms. A number of industrial applications demand temporal properties (predictability, jitter constraints, end-to-end deadlines, etc.) that are typically achieved by using off-line scheduling. The rigid off-line scheduling schemes used, however, do not provide for flexibility. On t...
متن کاملTask attribute assignment of fixed priority scheduled tasks to reenact off-line schedules
A number of industrial applications advocate the use of time triggered approaches for reasons of predictability, distribution, and particular constraints such as jitter or end-to-end deadlines. The rigid offline scheduling schemes used for time triggered systems, however, do not provide for flexibility. Fixed priority scheduling can provide more flexibility, but is limited with respect to predi...
